MoreThanAGame is a 501(c)Non-Profit Organization. Our goal for "MTAG" is that both our players, and their family's experiences would be about just that... More Than A Game. We care about more than the success of their middle school, high school, and even their college basketball careers; we want our players to excel in life, by becoming well-rounded, young men. We are a Christian-based organization, and we believe that it is our calling to serve our players, and to be a positive example for them both on and off the court. Our team of coaches and staff is comprised of men & women of high ethical standard, and great moral integrity. We hope to reflect positive examples of faith, individual character, Christ-centered marriages, and strong family values. Once you are a part of the MTAG organization, we consider you to be family. On the basketball court, we want to provide an ample amount of practice time, as well as plenty of bonding experiences to promote cohesive team-play as well as cultivate true brotherhood. We pride ourselves in skills training and extensive studying of the game, to achieve fundamental greatness. In the words of coaching legend, Geno Auriemma, “most teams practice until they get it right, we practice until we can’t get it wrong.”

Why do I see two team names in some photos?

The Wildcats was the name of our AAU team when we first started out. Our current 15U Team is managed & coached by our MoreThanAGame staff. The Wildcats name came with the team, who's organization at the time did not have an AAU-level team in our age group. We're proud to have represented both organizations as a unit, but have since made the mutual decision to branch out in different directions. We have since

transitioned so that our AAU Team is known solely as the MTAG WolfPack.

What age level are your teams?

We currently have a:

  • 15/16U National Team that competes in National Exposure Tournaments year-around.

  • 15/16U Regional Team competes locally during the spring and summer.

  • For the Spring/Summer of '22, we have had several 17U players reach out to us with interest. It is possible that we will form a team for that age group, please contact us for details.

All glory to God! Team prayer huddle.

What does it cost to play?

Club ball is an investment in your child and can be pricey, but we do our best to keep costs to a minimum. Prices may fluctuate based on the season. However, we can guarantee that we have some of the lowest prices and most flexible payment options in the area. We also organize several fundraisers throughout the season to help families with player dues.

Do all players get equal playing time?

No. At the AAU level, playing time is earned. A combination of attitude, effort, coachability, and skill will determine a player's time on the court. Although the coaches always do their best to involve everyone, we play to win. This means that game-time decisions have to be made based on what the coaches believe will put the team in the best position to win. Although these decisions can be tough, at this level, they are necessary. At this age level, most players are in high school, which is where players will start to understand their level of skill compared to others. Teams are most successful when every member understands and fully embraces their specific role.

When is the next tryout?

We typically offer 2-3 tryouts throughout the year for our AAU team. Registration remains open year-round, so if you would like to try out, please go to our "CONTACT" page and fill out the form labeled "INTEREST FORM/REGISTER TODAY."

Do you keep fees low by only playing in 1-day tourneys or rec-leaugue games?

No. When possible, we compete in some of the most high-level exposure tournaments around. Two summers ago we competed in the GradeSchoolElite, PrimeTime National Championship Tournament, MAYB National Championship Tournament, as well as the biggest tourney of the season, the Coast2Coast Preps National Championship Tournament. Our team truly seeks out #AllTheSmoke We are able to keep fees low because we do not charge coaching fees. Our coaches and staff are truly dedicated to serving others, as we feel it is what we have been called, by Christ, to do. #MoreThanAGame We will always do our best to keep fees low so that everyone with the ability to do so, has an equal opportunity to experience playing at the highest possible level.
